Professor Syed Hussainy
Professor Syed Hussainy is a Limnologist. He graduated in India with Post-Graduation at Monash. Syed was a senior scientist with Melbourne Water for nearly 30 years. He has been a specialist lecturer on environment management at Victoria University for the past 12 years and has over 48 publications. Syed has over 40 years experience in aquatic ecology and in the management of algal blooms in reservoirs, waste-water treatment lagoons and recreation lakes in an ecologically sustainable manner. He has successfully conducted several workshop seminars on this topic while he was with Melbourne Water. He has also representated Melbourne Water on the State Blue-Green Algae Management Committee for several years.
