Terry Turney (PhD, FTSE, FRACI) is CEO of Asia Nanomaterials, an R&D provider to small and large businesses in nanotechnology and materials science, with operations currently being established in Australia, Thailand and Malaysia. He also has a related position as CTO with a Malaysian group of companies. He concurrently holds a Professorship at Monash University in Green Chemistry. Until recently he was Director of the Nanotechnology Centre in Australia’s Government R&D Organization, CSIRO, where he undertook various roles in materials research for over 28 years. His group’s R&D activities resulted in several nanostructured products in the marketplace. His current R&D interests include biomimetic materials, nanotoxicology and applications of nanoparticles and nanocomposites within the manufacturing sector. He has an interest in technological disruption and the place of sustainable innovation within the manufacturing sector. Until Oct, 2006, he was Chairman of the Asian Nano Forum, a network organization promoting regional R&D and the economic uptake of nanotechnology within Asia.
