Mr Eddy Ostarcevic

Eddy Ostarcevic has worked in the water industry for 24 years and been involved in the design, construction, operation and process optimisation of water, sewage and industrial waste treatment processes. Eddy is technical director of Integrated Elements, an engineering business specialising in water and wastewater treatment and was employed by Central Highlands Water and GWMWater responsible for water and wastewater treatment operations and distribution services.

Eddy is responsible for design and implementation of membrane processes with particular emphasis on brackish water desalination and the production of biologically stable water using nanofiltration membranes. He has a strong research and technology focus across the water industry. Eddy was awarded the inaugural Kwatye (Water) Prize in 2005 and that allowed him to evaluate DOC removal using nanofiltration membranes throughout Europe and the US during 2006.

Victoria University appointed Eddy as an Adjunct Research Fellow and works within the University’s Institute of Sustainability and Innovation specifically with innovative membrane applications including vacuum membrane distillation, DOC removal and biofouling in nanofiltration membranes. Eddy is managing the membrane distillation project sponsored by the CRC WQ&T and GWMWater and currently enrolled in a PhD program at VU to develop real time integrity monitoring of reverse osmosis membrane systems for water reuse applications.
